阿拉善盟，外文名Alxa League,位于内蒙古自治区最西部，东、东北与乌海、巴彦淖尔、鄂尔多斯三市相连，南、东南与宁夏回族自治区毗邻，西、西南与甘肃省接壤，北与蒙古国交界，边境线长735千米。全盟总面积27万平方千米。阿拉善盟下辖3个旗（阿拉善左旗、阿拉善右旗、额济纳旗）和阿拉善高新技术产业开发区、策克口岸经济开发区2个自治区级开发区，共有31个苏木镇，200个嘎查村。盟行政公署驻阿拉善左旗巴彦浩特镇。
